Hello everyone out there in Cyberspace!
I decided to start this blog to record my thoughts and feelings throughout this journey known as INTERNSHIP.
I suppose I should begin by telling you all a little bit about me. My name is Kayla, I am 23 (one week from 24) years old, and I am under one month away from beginning my student teaching. I have been happily married to my husband for three years. I live in a small (very small) town in Northern Mississippi.
Today I received that long-awaited letter that held the names of two schools in which I would spend the next three months. I got up this morning and raced to the post office for this letter and I can't say that I was disappointed. Up until this point, student teaching has just been something we talked about, but never thought we would actually see.
However, the moment I opened that letter..... it all became real.
I found myself overcome with emotions: I was excited, nervous, and more than anything, I felt like I was going to throw up. It really hit me that I was an adult, one step closer to beginning a professional career. WOW. It seems like just yesterday that my bedroom was lime green with posters of Hanson plastering the walls.
So, with all that said, I hope that you all will join me on this journey. I have a feeling it will be a long three months, but we will make it.
